After trying for hours on end I could not get games for windows live to install. I’ve tried downloading it through the dark darl install, which says it’s installing and then just stops as well as downloading it from the main site and many other sites. It gets near finishing installing and then it just stops and says the install failed, saying An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘policy. Did u fix this m8? Pirate View Profile View Posts. It is run by steamworks. Just download and install the game, use the default version, and you should be good to go do NOT choose Beta! The beta version was only there gamed aid in the transfer from GFWL to the current and up to date Steamworks version. Beta is out of date and defunkt. The OP’s problem no longer exists in the current version of the game. Only reason I’m adding to this ressurection is to dispel any misconceptions it’s rise may create.
